He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from Brooklyn College, City University of New York. Since 1995, he has exhibited internationally in Taipei, Seoul, New York, Tokyo, Washington D.C., and Beijing. He was awarded First Prize at the 2024 Perth Royal Art Prize and has been recognised in major awards including the Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award, Joondalup Invitational Art Prize, and Albany Art Prize. Since relocating to Perth in 2015 on a Distinguished Talent Visa, he has undertaken studio residencies including PICA, North Metro TAFE, Fremantle Arts Centre, and Artsource's Old Customs House studios. His projects have received support from Creative Australia and the Department of Local Government, Sport, and Cultural Industries in 2021 and 2024.
