"I am a contemporary botanical artist, working through printmaking methodologies to highlight the adaptations of untended plant species within local fringe urban sites. Referencing herbarium traditions, I print directly with plants gathered from such sites. Seeking the affect of adaptive plant presence, I multi-layer impressions such that the plants’ structural forms are impressed into papers, inked details trace, tonalities nuance.
My artmaking is supported by my previous career as a high school art teacher, followed by further University studies in Fine Arts. I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Tasmania. My project is a printmaking-led investigation of botanical nature’s adaptations within Nipaluna/Hobart’s Domain, in proximity to the Botanical Gardens. "
