Exhibition Artist Eero Almeida
Eero Almeida is an emerging artist based in Boorloo (Perth, Western Australia). His work is an exploration of loss, self-perception, and reframing the relationship of animals in the human experience. Almeida utilises dry point monotypes, artist books, soft sculptures, and collage withing their work, using their own techniques to create soft fur textures in dry points to embody the naivety of animals. Grief and mental health are a foundation of their creative practice, using animals to facilitate the delicate conversation and examine the complexities of loss. Experimenting with the interplay of western portraiture and the innocence exhibited by animals to create a dialogue between the audience and the animal.
